Carmella’s Pizza & Grill Rebrand
Carmella’s Pizza and Grill is a well-known pizza place within the community. With a vibrant clientele and hardworking staff, I knew it needed branding to highlight these characteristics.
The Original Branding
The original logo design and branding work just fine for Carmella’s. In my redesign, however, I took a different approach. I wanted to bring out aspects of the restaurant that I thought were not highlighted in this design solution.
The Redesigned Branding
Family, community, and authenticity were all words I kept in mind when redesigning a brand for Carmella’s. To support the restaurant’s authentic nature, I hand-lettered and hand-drew the logo with analog tools! Pizza is not made in Adobe Illustrator, is it?
Typography
In order to emphasize the restaurant’s authenticity, hand-lettering was a major component of Carmella’s new branding. To pair with it, TW Cen MT was added. This sans-serif is clean and simple but has some quirky characteristics within its anatomy.
